WHO IS MRS. HERSH
WELCOME TO NEW PROVIDENCE MIDDLE SCHOOL
I am Mrs. Hersh and this year is going to be a most exciting and unusual school year, with approximately 50% of our students staying home and learning virtually and 50% attending school traditionally. I want each one of you to embrace science and to recognize the importance of science in our past, present, and future. In order to do this, you will be identifying and solving problems by thinking critically, along with being able to demonstrate a deep understanding of content and applying this knowledge to solve problems in and out of the classroom.
I have been teaching here at New Providence for 19 years and I love the compassion and energy that our faculty and staff deliver to our students. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Austen Peay and my Master’s Degree from Cumberland University. Before my teaching career, I served 20 years in the United States Army as a paralegal. I am married to my wonderful husband of 30 years and together, we have 4 children, 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. My first passion is spending time in the outdoors, especially the mountains (preferably in Montana), which I love. Additionally, I love to read books about mysteries, westerns, classics, the Civil War and biographies. you can find me curled up with any of these genres when I want to relax.
